How Can I Donate Today? |

There are many convenient ways to donate to your local American Red Cross. No matter which method you choose, please let us know if your gift is in honor of a special occasion, in memory of a loved one, or if you would like to designate your gift to a specific purpose.
Donate by Phone: Call our office at (507) 437-4589 during regular business hours to donate using your credit card.
Donate by Mail: Donations may be mailed to 305 4th Ave. NW Austin, MN 55912
Donate in Person: Stop in during regular business hours to make your donation. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
You can also donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund through the Mower County Chapter. You can help people affected by disasters like the current floods and winter storms, by donating to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. On those rare occasions when donations exceed Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters. Your gift enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of all disasters.

Memorial Gifts: This is a wonderful way to remember and honor a friend or a loved one. All memorial gifts are listed in our annual report. To make a memorial gift please call (507) 437-4589.
Gifts of Stock: Gifts of appreciated stock can be a great way to support the Red Cross and earn a tax deduction. For more information please call (507) 437-4589.
Leaving a Legacy/Planned Giving: There are many options for supporting the chapter through planned giving. Some involve legacy gifts in your will, while others can benefit the chapter while you continue to draw income during your lifetime. For more information please call (507) 437-4589.
Corporate Partnership Opportunities: Enhance your commitment to our local community while generating visibility and goodwill for your company. We work with companies in Mower county to design programs that meet their specific objectives. Some of the more popular programs are in-kind donations, event sponsorships, donated advertising and public service announcements, program underwriting, and grant funding.
Heroes Campaign: If you're looking for a fun and easy way to support the Red Cross, join our Heroes Campaign in May! Each Hero commits to raise $1,000 or more for the local chapter during the month long campaign. You can do anything you want - as long as it's legal! Where Does My Donation Go? |

- In fiscal year 2008/2009 the Mower County Chapter provided the following services in the communities we serve.
- Responded to 14 local disasters, including 11 residential fires.
- Responded within minutes to the huge fire in downtown Austin and the tornado in June.
- Taught over 4,072 people how to perform lifesaving skills such as CPR, First Aid, and Water Safety.
- Assisted 27 families with emergency communications messages .
- Collected 2,729 units of blood in Mower County.

How Does My Donation Help? |

Your generous contributions help us provide food, clothing, shelter, counseling and health needs to those who are affected by a disaster such as a fire, flood, tornado, or other emergency. $25 Buys five blankets $35 Replaces a prescription medication. $65 Feeds and shelters a person for a day and one night in a local motel. $115 Buys groceries for a displaced family for one week. $350 Feeds and shelters 50 disaster victims for one night. $500 Helps pay medical expenses for an injured senior. $1,000 Buys 50 home clean-up kits for use after a fire or flood $1,500 Provides disaster relief for one family. $2,500 Supports and Emergency Response Vehicle to feed and care for people in a disaster. $5,000 Trains 50 volunteers to assist thousands during a disaster.
The American Red Cross is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue code. Contributions are tax-deductible.
