FAQ-Personal Care Shelf

Personal Care Shelf
A Service Unique to our Community Print E-mail

Imagine your family’s morning routine having a few more challenges.  Open the cabinet to grab the toothpaste or deodorant and nothing is there; hop into the shower and have no shampoo or soap; look at the pile of dirty laundry and have no detergent; see the dishes stacked by the sink and no dish soap in sight.  This is scene is becoming too common in dozens of area households.  The Personal Care Shelf at the American Red Cross, Mower County Chapter exists to fill those gaps in emergency situations.  The Personal Care Shelf is operated on a referral basis from other partner agencies.  Families can only visit the shelf twice in 12 months.

The Personal Care Shelf is unique to the Mower County Chapter of the American Red Cross and is supported by the community.  We have received generous in-kind donations from some volunteers and board members but need more help.  This program is not supported by the United Way or the government.
